Emily began shooting in 2017 at the age of 8, starting out as a Barebow Archer

Initially taking part in field, target and 3D styles of shooting, she then started competing properly in 2023, winning the U16 NI Indoor championships, and the NI and Open 3D target championships.

Emily then moved to recurve in 2024 and began shooting for the Northern Ireland Performance Academy with her attention shifting to target archery.
